    East Frisia: relaxation and pure nature

    East Frisia, in the northwest of Germany, is an ideal destination for a trip with your Hannes. The region impresses with its wide, green landscapes, picturesque villages and proximity to the North Sea. Here you can enjoy the freedom to explore the country at your own pace - be it through the Wadden Sea, the East Frisian Islands or the historic cities.

    From visiting the region's historic windmills to experiencing the unique landscape in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, there is a lot to discover. The quiet rural ambience, Frisian hospitality and numerous campsites make East Frisia a perfect destination for a relaxing camper holiday.

    Particularly attractive are the islands such as Norderney or A sword, which are easily accessible with the Hannes Camper and are known for their idyllic beaches and healthy climate. Here you can enjoy the day in complete peace and nature - just the thing to escape from everyday life.

    Holland is just around the corner

    Known for its picturesque landscapes, historic cities and numerous canals, Holland is an ideal destination for motorhome enthusiasts. The country offers numerous campsites, nature reserves and breathtaking views that make travelling by motorhome an unforgettable experience.

    The Dutch landscape is incredibly diverse and offers something for every taste. From the green, flat land with countless windmills to the wide beaches of the North Sea - Holland has a lot to offer in terms of landscape.

    • National parks and nature reserves: There are numerous nature parks where you can drive your motorhome via specially designated parking spaces. Hoge Veluwe National Park is, for example, a wonderful place for nature lovers who want to hike or cycle through forests and heathlands.
    • Tulip fields in spring: If you are travelling in spring, you cannot miss the famous tulip fields. The Keukenhof and Noordoostpolder area in particular offer incredible photo opportunities.
    • The coast and beaches: The Dutch coast has many beautiful beaches, known for both relaxation and activities such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. Some pitches offer direct access to the beach, allowing you to enjoy the sunset right outside the door of your motorhome.

    East Frisia tour (one week)

    A week with the motorhome in Ostfriesland ab Wilhelmshaven offers you a wonderful opportunity to experience the coast, the Wadden Sea, idyllic villages and picturesque islands. Here is a suggested itinerary that will show you the most beautiful corners of the region, with a mix of nature, culture and relaxation.

    Day 1: Wilhelmshaven – Arrival and exploration

    • Arrival in Wilhelmshaven: Your journey begins in Wilhelmshaven, the largest city on the northwest coast. Use the first day to explore the city.

    • Continue to Varel (approx. 10 km): A small, charming town with a historic town centre. Here you can stroll through the old town or visit the Varel Castle visit.
    • Car-Parking Space: Overnight stay on the RV parking space at the Jade Bay in Dangast or in Varel.

    Day 3: Varel – Norddeich (approx. 120 km)

    • trip to Norddeich (approx. 1,5 hours): Today we continue to Norddeich, a popular holiday resort on the North Sea, from where ferries to the East Frisian Islands . go
      • Worth seeing: Visit the ferry port and plan a ferry to the island Norderney or A swordBoth islands are ideal for a break by the sea, with long sandy beaches and unspoilt landscapes.
      • Alternatively, you can Wadden Sea National Park and experience the fascinating nature on a guided mudflat hike.
    • Car-Parking Space: Overnight stay on one of the Campsites or pitches in Norddeich.

    Day 4: Island of Norderney (day trip)

    • day trip to the island of Norderney: Norderney is one of the most famous East Frisian Islands. The island is great to explore by bike or on foot and offers beautiful nature and numerous sights.
      • Worth seeing: Take a tour of the Norderney mudflats or visit the NationalparkhausThe long sandy beaches and clear water invite you to take long walks and swim.
      • Tip:: Take your time to browse through the charming island capital Norderney to stroll, with its historic buildings, beautiful cafés and shops.
    • return trip to Norddeich in the evening. Overnight stay again at the parking space in Norddeich.

    Day 5: Norddeich – Greetsiel (approx. 90 km)

    • trip to Greetsiel (approx. 1 hour): Greetsiel is a picturesque fishing village known for its historic twin mills and its charming harbor. It is an ideal place to immerse yourself in the history and culture of the region.
      • Worth seeing: Take a stroll through the harbor and the old town center. The region is known for its traditional Crab fishing, so be sure to enjoy fresh crab sandwich or fish in one of the harbor restaurants.
      • If you have time, visit the Pilsum lighthouse – it is a popular photo motif and shows the typical Frisian architecture.
    • Car-Parking Space: Stay overnight on one of the Campsites in Greetsiel or on one of the parking spaces along the harbor.

    Day 6: Greetsiel – Aurich (approx. 40 km)

    • trip to Aurich (approx. 40 km): Aurich is a pretty town in the east of East Frisia with many historic buildings and a pleasant atmosphere.
      • Worth seeing: Visit the Aurich Castle or East Frisian State MuseumA walk through the town with its traditional half-timbered houses and small shops is also worthwhile.
    • Car-Parking Space: Spend the night on a pitch or campsite near Aurich, for example on the Campingplatz am Mühlenteich.

    Day 7: Aurich – Wilhelmshaven (approx. 60 km)

    • return trip to Wilhelmshaven (approx. 1 hour): On the last day of your trip you will return to Wilhelmshaven and can stroll through the city once more or visit the Wilhelmshaven North Sea relax.

    Three Days between Elbe and Jade

    If you have a long weekend, a trip through the land between the Jade and the Elbe is a good idea.

    Day 1: Wilhelmshaven → Bremerhaven (approx. 150 km)

    • Sights: German Maritime Museum, Climate House, Havenwelten, Fishing Port
    • Overnight stay: Parking space at the fishing port or Climate House in Bremerhaven

    Day 2: Bremerhaven → Cuxhaven (approx. 70 km)

    • Sights: Alte Liebe, mudflat hike, Fort Kugelbake, spa park
    • Overnight stay: Parking space on the beach or harbor in Cuxhaven

    Tag 3: Cuxhaven → Dangast → Wilhelmshaven (approx. 180 km)

    • Sights: Dangast Art Museum, spa park and beach in Dangast, Naval Museum in Wilhelmshaven
    • Return to Wilhelmshaven
