    Paderborn

    Original and diverse Paderborner Land

The varied Forest and heath landscapes around Paderborn are a ideal starting point for your camping trip. Along the Emsquellen hiking trail, picturesque stream valleys and shallow dunes make you forget everyday life. And in Bad Wünnenberg the motto is: "Freedom for your feet" - on the adventure barefoot path for young and old.
If you prefer to explore the Paderborn region by bike, the Römer-Lippe-Route is recommended. From the Hermann Monument in Detmold you follow in the footsteps of the ancient Romans to Xanten. A demanding 80-kilometer tour is the Senne cycle path, which takes you right into the historic Teutoburg Forest.
The versatile lake landscape with the Leisure Center Lippesee is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Whether sailing, surfing or water skiing, you'll get your money's worth here. Things are a little quieter at the Aabach dam, which is wonderful to walk, cycle or inline skate around.

If you are also interested in the history and culture of the region, you should visit one of the many Museums in and around Paderborn to visit:

    • The Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum shows you the history of the first calculating machines up to current computers.
    • The Salt Museum in Salzkotten shows you how salt is produced in the traditional way.
    • The triangular castle of Wewelsburg, which is unique in the world, houses, among other things, an important Nazi memorial site and the museum of the Paderborn Bishopric.

    The highlights in the Sauerland

Paderborn is considered the "gateway to the Sauerland" - a paradise for all outdoor fans, with its natural hiking trails and adrenaline-pumping mountain bike trails. The "Quality Region Wanderbares Deutschland" invites you to fantastic adventure, nature and theme trails. If you need more action, you should definitely not miss the Bike Arena Sauerland. On more than 1140 kilometers of cycling routes, there is everything for beginners to professionals. Most of the tours can be found around the holiday world of Winterberg. You can enjoy breathtaking views from the Kahler Asten and the Hochheide.
As a water sports enthusiast, you will also get your money's worth in the diverse lake landscape: Sorpesee, Biggesee and Margaretensee are just a few of the water bodies with cozy pitches and campsites. So what are you waiting for? Rent a mobile home, discover Sauerland!

    Hannes Camper tour tips

you have your Rented a mobile home in Paderborn and now you finally want to start your adventure? Then we have here three neat tour tips for you: With the camper to the stormy North Sea, to our neighbors in Holland or to the wine paradise of the Rhine-Moselle Valley.

With the camper to the North Sea

From our station in Büren you can reach the German North Sea coast in just under three hours. There are two route options: via the A33 to Osnabrück or via the A44/A1 to Munster and then further north. Both cities have a lot to offer as a short stopover. Botanical gardens, zoos and historic town halls await you here. In Münster, the city harbor is particularly worth seeing, while Osnabrück offers a museum of industrial culture.

Our tip for camper fans is the popular coastal town of Norddeich with its well-equipped campsite. Separated from the water only by the dike, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the sea here. The highlights: free WiFi, bread service, restaurant and kiosk. Explore the city center on foot or hop on your own bikes to explore the region with the Eider barrage, Büsum harbor and seal station. On the water you can kite, sail, windsurf or paddle with the SUP.

Rent a motorhome in Paderborn - and off to Holland!

You can reach the Dutch coast in about three and a half hours from Paderborn. Our suggested route takes you straight to Amsterdam, on to the island of Texel, then to The Hague and Rotterdam.

A unique canal metropolis with art and culture awaits you in Amsterdam. Whether it's the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, Munttoren or the Royal Palace - there's a lot of history to discover here. The beautiful Vondelpark invites you to relax and have a picnic, while you can treat yourself to a top-class brewery experience in the Heineken Experience.

The Rhine and Moselle invite you

Castles and wine - that is the quintessence of the Rhine and Moselle valleys. The unique landscape with its Mediterranean flair in southwest Germany can be explored particularly comfortably with a Hannes camper. This time, our first stage takes us from Paderborn to Koblenz. Here you can decide whether you want to drive along the Moselle and then through the northern Hunsrück or directly along the Rhine to Bingen.

Route suggestion number one is the castle tour on the Moselle: Thurant Castle - Eltz Castle - Reichsburg Cochem - Metternich Castle - Geierlay suspension bridge. Here you can experience the numerous fortresses, fairytale sights and historical places up close.
