Shortly after we opened our first franchise partner station, we found our perfect second partner in the father and son tandem, Wigbert and Robert.
The two will be in Büren in 2021 Paderborn opened our third Hannes Camper location.
Paderborn is considered the “gateway to the Sauerland” – a paradise for all outdoor fans, with its natural hiking trails and adrenaline-pumping mountain bike trails. The “Quality Region Hiking Germany” invites you to wonderful adventure, nature and themed trails. If you need more action, you definitely shouldn't miss the Bike Arena Sauerland.
On more than 1140 kilometers of cycling routes, there is everything for beginners to professionals. Most of the tours can be found around the Winterberg holiday world. You can enjoy breathtaking views from the Kahler Asten and the Hochheide.
As a water sports enthusiast, you will also get your money's worth in the diverse lake landscape: Sorpesee, Biggesee and Margaretensee are just a few bodies of water with cozy parking spaces and campsites.

1. With the camper to the North Sea from Bielefeld
Our Paderborn station is located in Büren in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia. From here you can reach the German North Sea coast with your motorhome in just under three hours. There are two route options: via the A33 to Osnabrück or via the A44/A1 to Münster and then further north. Both cities have a lot to offer as a short detour. Botanical gardens, zoos and historic town halls await you here. In Münster, the city harbor is particularly worth seeing, while Osnabrück has a museum of industrial culture.
Our tip for motorhome fans is the popular coastal town of Norddeich with its well-equipped campsite. Only separated from the water by the dike, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the sea here. The highlights: free WiFi, bread service, restaurant and kiosk. Explore the city center on foot or hop on the bikes you brought with you to explore the region with the Eider barrage, Büsum harbor and seal station. On the water you can enjoy kiting, sailing, windsurfing or paddling with a SUP.
2. Rent a motorhome from Bielefeld – and off to Holland!
You can reach the Dutch coast in about three and a half hours from Paderborn. Our suggested route takes you directly to Amsterdam, then to the island of Texel, then to The Hague and Rotterdam.
A unique canal metropolis with art and culture awaits you in Amsterdam. Whether it's the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, Munttoren or the Royal Palace - there's a lot of history to discover here. The beautiful Vondelpark invites you to have a relaxed picnic, while you can treat yourself to a top-class brewery experience at the Heineken Experience.
3. With the camper to the Moselle/Rhine from Bielefeld
Castles and wine – that is the quintessence of the Rhine and Moselle valleys. The unique landscape with its Mediterranean flair in southwest Germany can be explored particularly comfortably with a Hannes Camper motorhome. This time our first stage takes us from Paderborn to Koblenz. Here you can decide whether you want to drive along the Moselle and then through the northern Hunsrück or directly along the Rhine to Bingen.
The castle tour on the Moselle: Thurant Castle – Eltz Castle – Cochem Castle – Metternich Castle – Geierlay suspension rope bridge. Here you can experience the numerous fortresses, fairytale sights and historical places up close.

Rental service for campervans 2.0, simple, uncomplicated online booking, and even a subsequent extension of the period was possible without any problems. Inquiries were always processed quickly and professionally. The vehicles are adequately equipped with the necessary accessories including a crockery box and an 11kg gas bottle. The biggest advantage I see here is that you don't have to transfer the deposit in a nonsensical manner or maybe even bring it in cash, but simply get a corresponding reservation on your credit card, as has been the rule in foreign hotels for years. Unfortunately, this method has not yet arrived everywhere in Germany. There is also a very intensive briefing on the vehicle upon handover. And you can even get the professional tips here for free. For us, Hannes Camper's concept was completely rounded and an absolute recommendation. We will definitely book our vehicle here again for our vacation.

As in 2021, this year we have decided to go on a road trip with a camper from “Hannes Camper Paderborn”. After we had such consistently positive experiences with the first rental, the bar was set accordingly high: and we were not disappointed: Robert kindly picked me up from the train station in Paderborn, which is absolutely not something we take for granted. There was repeated detailed and routinely professional instruction.
This time we didn't have any unforeseen problems along the way. Nevertheless, we asked from time to time whether everything was okay. We found it very accommodating.
The return was completely easy and without any difficulties. Again I had a shuttle service to the train station in Paderborn, many thanks again to Robert and Wigbert from Hannes-Camper Paderborn in Büren-Weiberg!

Important questions about renting a camper in Bielefeld
How is the power supply regulated?
When driving, for example, the refrigerator, the freezer compartment and the lighting are operated via the 12 volt function. In the parking situation, the 12 volt function of the auxiliary battery also ensures the operation of the devices. When parking for a longer period of time, it is best to connect Hannes to the power grid. For this we have equipped Hannes with a 15 m cable.
Are trips possible with three or more people?
Basically, all Hannes campers are equipped for at least two people, so that you will find at least 4 seats and 2 beds in all Hannes campers.
With two additional sleeping places in the pop-up roof, our family Hannes offers space for the whole family with up to 4 people.
For children up to 8 years of age we offer the so-called Campsleep bed as an option: Simply select the add-on “Campsleep bed” when making your booking. This bed is placed in the front of the driver and passenger seat and adapts perfectly to the cockpit. This creates a small cozy bed (approx. 160 cm x 60 cm) which does not restrict the living space. From our point of view the perfect solution for a couple with a smaller child.
Which driving license do we need for the camper?
The normal class B car driving license is sufficient, as a Hannes camper only has a total weight of 3,5 tonnes. The low weight also gives you further advantages when it comes to tolls and ferries.
What are the costs of an accident?
There is maximum comprehensive coverage as a self-drive rental vehicle. Costs only arise if the accident was your fault.
